...and it appears that I'm about 40% of British origin, 40 % German, 10% Italian(guess that's where my body hair comes from, actually I'm not Italian level hairy, just a bit hairier than avg.) and 10% Romanian(strange, never been into blood tasting). Funny how I don't speak any of those languages, except for English, obviously. And a very few known words in German and Italian, Romanian? Not much, except for Dacia, Dracula and that's about it
=
You can call me the United friken' Nations.

Nice. I'm about the same, except the Italian side of the family is actually german, and with a little scottish thrown in instead of british.

Isn't Scotland a part of Britain, now?

How diverse. I know the paternal grandfather of my paternal grandmother was German, so there's that. 6% German, 94% Dutch? Quite boring really.

Haha, yeah, I guess. : p
I was actually trying to say that we found records of our family name specifically in Scotland, as opposed to England. English and British are kind of interchangeable in Brazil, even though I know it's wrong.

Now I feel very ordinary with my 50% german/25% armenian/25% russian heritage.

Klaus once said that the Netherlands is much like Germany, with more windmills or so, not sure if he was just joking or not.

By American you mean native amerindians, as there is no such thing as American, except for those.

I never read him saying that, but he'd be mostly right. Not about the windmills, the Germans have more of those nowadays anyway, but we're culturally and genetically relatively similar.

Hehe, got that, I was just playing dumb, and mocking Scotland, who things that it would do better off, without England.

Uhm, where exactly did I write "american"?

Oh, you said Armenian, sorry I was multitasking and read American, instead, lol

I did that last year. Found out that my GGG.....grandfather was the minister at Jamestown in 1621. Also found that my ancestor led a rebellion against the crown in England and ended up beheaded and quartered. Also found where someone traced the heritage back to 392 in Cologne, France. On my mom's side, we were Vikings that settled in Normandy and were part of William the Conqueror's army and that's how both sides ended up in Great Britain. My dad's side in Yorkshire and my mom's in Scotland.
The funny part is that when the minister returned to England he was granted lands in the New World which he gave to his sons. However, my dad is from the backwoods Appalachia - what did one of my ancestors do to go from landed gentry to backwoods, dirt-poor, redneck? Holy crap on a cracker!
Anyway, the internet is fun for this because it's very likely that someone else did all the hard stuff and you just need to find where you share an ancestor and then you can make the connections easily. However, if you have relatives in Tennessee, you are going to have a harder time. The census records were destroyed in the War of 1812, so unless you want to do legwork that's where the hard and fast connections end (at least for me).

Genetically, I'm maybe 50% Ukranian, 25% English, 10% Scottish, 10% Irish, and 5% German. Culturally, I'm not at all Ukranian, but Japanese (stepdad). It makes sense in my head, whatever :P

So, you drink cherry flavored, rice vodka?

Nope. I eat liver & onions, marinated in soy sauce and stuffed in perogies. Maybe topped with a little sauerkraut.

Found it , I simplified his formulation, a little.

Yes it is, if you're still at work to finish a project, and your boss calls you every 15 minutes to ask about your progress.

Well, I guess that explains why Rio Grande do Sul tries to break off from Brazil every few years, heheh...
